Congratulations and thanks to Mary and Lance, and to all those attended the celebration held at the Custom House Maritime Museum. The evening was enjoyed by over 70 of our members/guests. We hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about Newburyport and most of all, about our newest REALTOR of the YEAR, Mary Holmes and her connection to the US Coast Guard.
Thank you to Lance Adie, affiliate member, who has been very active in the community and with GNAR over the past three years, most recently as the chairperson of the Affiliate Committee. The committee is presently working on a directory, watch for the completed product later this Summer!

From Bay State Realtor®:
NAR Housing conference comes to Boston
NAR will host three Regional Workforce Housing Forums in 2011, one of which will be in Boston July 28 at the Hyatt. These forums are designed to outline the nature of the workforce housing challenge in each region and to highlight regional best practices in addressing that challenge. The forums are also designed to attract a wide range of attendees including employers and HR professionals, Realtors®, city planners, housing and community development leaders, local elected and appointed officials, state HFA representatives, and others. Forum registration is $45, which includes breakfast and lunch, plus NAR is offering travel stipends for members. For more information and to register, visit the Government Affairs section of realtor.org. http://www.nhc.org/events/Bring-Workers-Home—2011-Regional-Forum-on-Workforce-Housing—Boston.html
Congratulations to GNAR – Highest Participation on the 20% Call for Action
Here is a video showcasing NAR’s recent News Conference on the proposed 20% down-payment requirement in QRM (qualified residential mortgage). http://bcove.me/tj11e7yn
This video highlights the efforts of the Coalition on this important issue and will be posted on realtor.org. It is important that you also respond to the related NAR Calls for Action (as well as most recent Call For Action to make FHA/GSE loan limits permanent…an issue particularly critical to our part of the country).
Thanks for everyone’s ongoing participation on these critical issues!
