Chapter 93A – Consumer Protection and Business Regulation

This class addresses placing the consumer on a level playing field with the business of real estate, and prioritizing proper disclosure and behavior in the business of real estate” also licensees’ obligations.  Designed for real estate brokers and salespersons and provides a comprehensive overview of the application, procedures and potential liability under the Consumer Protection Statute. While this law has far reaching impact on business activities, this course merely puts focus on those elements relevant to real estate practice. While a thorough knowledge of this important law is critical for licensees, it is not a substitution for legal counsel. The actual law is M.G.L. c. 93A, but it is widely referenced as “93A”.

This class places discussion on what issues we face today on making sure that certain title issues are addressed; third party approval, short sales, liens, escrow, clouds on the title, Homestead concerns and more.

Are we, as licensees, presenting ALL offers and giving the parties to the offer appropriate treatment in accordance with the laws that govern us?  Discussion of multiple offers, verbal offers, low offers, and all types of offers.

All classes count for 2 hours each of  Mass & NH
credit = total of 6 hours per state

Thank you to those that have already paid 2012 dues.  Your timely payment is greatly appreciated.  Invoices for 2012 Membership Dues were mailed out in October, reflecting a payment due date of 12/31/11, the grace period is now ending.  Please mail your check asap to avoid the late fee of $50 which will be assessed to all payments received after 1/31/12, or pay your dues online at www.realtor.org. or by clicking here http://www.realtor.org/ecommenu.nsf/ecommenu?OpenForm&Menu

Payments received after 1/31/12 will be assessed a $50.00 late fee, payments after 2/28/12 a $100.00 late fee.
