Thank you to Newburyport Mayor Donna Holaday who visited at GNAR March 22 and gave updates on a variety of current projects including – bridges (Chain and Whitter), the proposed Local Historic District,Schools & SeniorCenter, and waterfront.

Tomorrow at 9am we will have presenters from PortPride Campaign discussing in further detail the proposed project for a new “Bresnahan” school, new Senior Community Center, and work to be performed at the Molin/Nock Middle School.

About the Port Pride Campaign . . . . Rachel Webb, a former Realtor in the Newburyport area, will introduce her associates which will provide insight on the project website, tours available to be taken at the schools, and how Realtors may become involved in the campaign.  Also, it is an opportunity to gather any concerns Realtors may have about the project and bring concerns back to the Campaign committee.  For more information visit the following links and

Mass. pending home sales up again in March: 11 months and counting

Today we released our March pending home sales numbers and for the 11th straight month, single-family pending sales have gone up. Not only is buyer activity up in terms of interest, but they are making offers. March was also the first month since June 2011 that over 4,000 homes went under agreement in a single month.

The number of condos put under agreement also went up both on a year-to-year and month-to-month basis.  Read the release: March Pending Home Sales

Here are the highlights:

  • Single-family pending home sales were up 38.8% compared to March 2011
  • Single-family month-to-month pending home sales were up 34.2% from February 2012
  • Condo pending home sales were up 30.4% compared to March 2011
  • Condo pending month-to-month home sales were up 45.2% from February 2012
