Join us on Thursday morning at 8:45am for refreshments provided by Liz Ryan of Guaranteed Rate. Speaker topic will be at 9am with a Q&A to follow. David Lops of Mortgage Financial and Barret Elliot of Birchwood Credit Services, Inc., will review how credit scores work, how they are computed, what information is used to develop the credit score, and how to help consumers correct errors on their credit reports ( in order to correctly reflect and maximize their credit scores). Small changes on a consumer’s credit report can create dramatic increases in credit scores. These increased credit scores represent the consumer’s “true score” which could be artificially depressed by credit report errors or mismanagement. Because of dramatic changes in the mortgage industry, it has become significantly more difficult to obtain a new mortgage or competitive rate refinance without the highest of FICO credit scores. Come learn how to manage clients expectations and how important their credit score is when bringing a potential transaction to a closed sale.

FHA Dual Agency Remains Permissible
HUD has delayed its plan to prohibit dual agency on FHA short sales and is working with NAR to develop a policy that addresses NAR’s concerns over the impact such a prohibition would have on communities.
FHA Proposal Eliminates Post-payment Charges
HUD is proposing to eliminate “post-payment interest charges” on FHA loans that consumers pay off. NAR supports eliminating the charges, which are unique to FHA loans and amount to a prepayment penalty.
